Steppenwolf’s 2016 Gala celebrated 40 years of incredible theater by honoring the visionaries who call Steppenwolf their artistic home. Hosted by 2016 Gala Co-Chairs Caroline and Keating Crown, Nora Daley and Sean Conroy, Liz and Eric Lefkofsky, Tracy Letts and Carrie Coon, Anna D. Shapiro and Ian Barford and the board of trustees, this year’s anniversary benefit raised $1.3 million in support of Steppenwolf’s innovative artistic, educational and community programs. Many thanks to those who contributed to the success of this year’s milestone event!

The 2016 Gala kicked-off with a reception that offered guests a sneak-peak into the new, soon-to-be open to the public, 1700 Theatre and Front Bar.

A highlight of the evening followed in the Downstairs Theatre where guests, representing decades of supporters, Chicago civic and business leaders and artistic collaborators, gathered to watch a creative and heartfelt video tribute to the Steppenwolf ensemble. Guests then joined the ensemble for cocktails and dinner, followed by a live auction featuring once-in-a lifetime experiences with the artists of Steppenwolf. The party continued late into the night with a private rock concert and dancing with Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band, a late-night DJ and after-hours lounge in Front Bar.
