Join Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater as they kick off their 50th Golden Anniversary Celebration as the premiere company and center of Spanish dance and music in Chicago. In Flamenco Tablao, the Ensemble will present a suite of passionate and expressive Flamenco dances and music from the southern part of Spain with Andalusian Roma, Latin American and Caribbean influences. The program features dancers from the company with guest musicians.

ABOUT ENSEMBLE ESPANOL SPANISH DANCE THEATER
Founded by Dame Libby Komaiko and led by Artistic Director Irma Suarez Ruiz and Executive Director Jorge Perez, the company celebrates the passions of Spanish dance, music art and culture in all styles including Flamenco, Escuela Bolera, Folkloric and Classical in both traditional and contemporary genres. As Chicago's international cultural treasure, the Ensemble Español presents this art form with many communities here in Chicago, nationally (including Hawaii and Puerto Rico) and internationally in the countries of Mexico, Poland, China, Costa Rica, Australia Canada and Spain.
Ensemble Español's mission is the preservation, presentation and promotion of Spanish dance and culture, which includes the exploration of the country’s history and identifies its influence on Latin American art and dance. Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater exists to share the rich traditions of the dance, music, literature and culture of Spain in the Escuela Bolera, Classical, Folkloric and Flamenco styles, both nationally and internationally and to be a nucleus of new artistic creativity within the framework of the Ibero-Hispanic (Spain) experience.
The Ensemble Español celebrates Spain in America through performance, arts education and community programs that bring the dance, music and song of Spain to U.S. audiences.
For over 4 decades, the organization has shared the rich history and contemporary importance of culturally specific art and maintains this commitment for artists, students and art lovers the world over.
